Course Modalities
Traditional
Course instruction is delivered 100% in person. All instruction occurs face-to-face at the scheduled times and locations listed in the course schedule. Students are required to attend in person on campus or at a designated site.
Your class schedule will show Traditional as the instructional method, as shown below.
Flexible On-Campus/Online
Course instruction is delivered simultaneously virtual in a synchronous format and on campus in person. Students have the option to attend virtually or in person at scheduled times and locations. Students are NOT required to attend in person on campus or at a designated site, but have the option to attend in either modality. An online course fee applies to these types of classes.
Your class schedule will show Flexible On-Campus/Online as the instructional method, as shown below.
Hybrid
Course instruction is delivered through a combination of face-to-face AND online methods. The format and schedule for in-person and online components are defined in the course schedule. Face-to-face components require in-person attendance on campus or at a designated site at the scheduled times. An online course fee applies to these types of classes.
Your class schedule will show Hybrid as the instructional method, as shown below.
Online with Meeting Times
Course instruction is delivered 100% online but includes synchronous components. Students are required to attend live virtual sessions at designated times via remote platforms (e.g., Zoom) at the scheduled times listed in the course schedule. Students are NOT required to attend in person on campus or at a designated site. An online course fee applies to these types of classes.
Your class schedule will show Computer based/Online as the instructional method, but will show scheduled meeting days and times, as shown below.
Online
Course instruction is delivered 100% online in an asynchronous format. Students complete coursework through the University’s learning management system, without scheduled class meetings. Students are NOT required to attend in person on campus or at a designated site. An online course fee applies to these types of classes.
Your class schedule will show Computer based/Online as the instructional method, but no meeting days and times, as shown below.
