Applying For Graduation
Get all your questions answered for your big day!
Why apply?
All students who wish to be awarded a credential are expected to submit a graduation application. The application initiates a review of your academic record to determine if you have met all requirements necessary to be awarded your degree or certificate. Students also indicate their preferred mailing address for their paper diploma or certificate and a preferred name to display on the credential.
Where do I apply?
- First, meet with an Academic Advisor and review your Degree Works degree audit to verify your progress toward completion.
- Submit a graduation application from Student Self-Service.
- If you encounter a No Curriculum Available error when trying to apply online, please send an email to okc.graduation@okstate.edu for assistance.
What happens after I apply?
- After your graduation application has been received and reviewed, a notification confirming receipt will be sent to the email address provided on your application.
- If your Degree Works degree audit doesnt reflect that you are on track to graduate, consult Academic Advisement or contact okc.graduation@okstate.edu with questions.
- Once final grades have been posted for the semester and all graduation requirements have been verified complete, your degree will be awarded to your official transcript.
- Diplomas are mailed out 6 to 8 weeks following the end of the term.
If Im pursuing multiple programs or a degree with an embedded certificate, do I need to wait to apply to graduate for all programs in the same term?
- Students do not need to wait to apply to graduate for all programs in the same term, and are encouraged to apply to graduate for a given program as soon as possible.
- Students can earn credentials while continuing to work on another program without impacting their student status, encountering financial aid penalties, or eligibility to participate in commencement ceremonies.
- It is best to ensure your academic record accurately reflects your achievements as you complete them.
